A Morphological and Histometrical Study on Distribution and Heterogeneity of Mast Cells of Chicken’s and Quail’s Digestive Tract

چکیده
This study was carried out to determine distribution and heterogeneity of mast cells in the digestive tract of the both chicken and quail. Ten Leghorn chickens and ten Japan quails were use during the investigation. Having been sacrified by decapitation, the chickens and quails’ tongue, crop, esophagus, proventriculus, gizzard, duodenum, jejunum, ileum, caecum and colon tissue samples were taken. Those samples were processed and blocked following the fixation with the BLA (basic lead acetate Mota), Carnoy’s and IFAA (isotonic formaldehyde acetic acid) solutions. The histologic sections were stained with toluidine blue and alcian blue – safranine in order to determine the mast cells distribution and heterogenity in the digestive tract. Both Mast cells distribution and heterogeneity were found to be different between the digestive tract organs. In both animal species, the mast cells were found to be at very high number in the tongue, crop, esophagus and proventriculus whereas they were very few in the gizzard. In additition, it was found that BLA and Carnoy’s solutions were better relative to IFAA to determine the distribution of mast cells. Positive reactions were observed against alcian blue in the staining of all mucosal mast cells in both animal species with alcian blue safranine mix. However, safranine was reactive only to esophagus, proventriculus, gizzard, colon, and tongue mast cells. In addition, alcian blue (+) granules beside the safranine (+) granules could be observed rarely, in those mentioned organs.

Background: Spermatogenesis is under the control of variety of factors, which include mast cells. Any changes in testicular mast cells’ number and distribution resulting in deterioration of comlex regulation and fine-turning of spermatogenesis. Increased number of mast cells and their abnormal spread pattern have been described in the testis with fertility disturbances. Mast cells’ tryptase enz...

Purpose: Sulfur mustard (SM), a highly toxic chemical warfare, primarily targets the skin, eye and respiratory tract. Respiratory tract lesions are the most disabling consequences. Mast cells, containing special granules that store histamine and heparin, release leukotrienes. It is known that the surface of mast cells contains specific receptors for 19B. Therefore, mast cells promote allergic r...

The aim of this study was to investigate the structure and ultrastructure of the digestive tract of Qinling lenok (Brachymystax tsinlingensis Li, 1966), a cold water Salmonidae fish, an endangered teleost species, with high potential for controlled rearing in Shaanxi Province of China, by light and electron microscopy. Morphological data of the digestive tract are important for understanding fi...

Intestinal stem cells (ISCs) are a group of rare cells located in the intestinal crypts which are responsible for the maintenance of the intestinal homeostasis and intestinal regeneration following injury or inflammation. Lineage tracing experiments in mice have proven that ISCs can repopulate the entire intestinal crypt. It is noteworthy that in such experiments, only a subset of intestinal cr...

Histological development of digestive tract of the Caspian salmon, Salmo trutta caspius, from hatching to 6 month post-hatching was studied using light microscope. The digestive tract of newly hatched larvae was a simple, undifferentiated tube which continued from mouth to anus. In 10 days post hatching larvae, the alimentary canal became more differentiated and secretion was started activity, ...
